B&B Gl. Rye is located in the middle of the stunning Danish Lakelands – only 4 km from “Himmelbjerget”, the must-see nature attraction with an amazing scenic view.

The house and the garden together make up a unique artist’s home, known as “CreativeSpaces-fm.com”/”De Kreative Mellemrum”, where you are surrounded by mosaics, sculptures and paintings created by the owner.

THE HOUSE

It is a small and charming house made from boulders located in the old part of the village of Gl. Rye.
The room is very light and newly decorated. It is located on the 1st floor. There are 2 90×200 cm box mattresses with very comfortable mattress toppers.
There are pillows, duvets and bed linen for 2 persons, 2 bath robes, 2 pairs of slippers,
2 towels per persons, blackout blinds, and a hair dryer in the room.
There is tea and coffee available in the room.
There is a bathroom on the ground floor which you share with the 2 residents.

A delicious continental breakfast platter is included.

In the garden, you have access to a private terrace with garden furniture. Here – the weather permitting – you can enjoy your breakfast platter in the morning sun, or maybe an evening take-away.
You can borrow plates and cutlery from the owner.
Otherwise, breakfast is served in the living room or in the sunroom.

The house is decorated with paintings and mosaics, and the garden is filled with sculptures and it is an inspirational experience in itself. All the art is created by the owner.

Non-smoking home. No suited for pets.
Check-in any time after 3 p.m. Check-out no later than 11 a.m.

It is possible to rent 2 kayaks at the B&B Gl. Rye – incl. drop off/pick up at the Emborg Bridge from where you can paddle to Lake Mossø or maybe as far as to the town of Ry.
You can also rent bicycles so your can explore the lovely neighbourhood around Gl. Rye.

We – the two residents – live in the house ourselves, but we fully respect your privacy.
One of the two residents can always be contacted if needed.
The door to the room can be locked for privacy.
Shared entrance and bathroom. We are very accommodating and courteous and we like to make new acquaintances ? and we happily share tips and information about the area.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

The village of Gl. Rye is lovely and charming. It is close to nature – forest, lakes and hills – and you find all kinds of outdoor activities closeby – e.g. MTB routes, hiking routes, sailing, and excellent angling spots.

The local convenience store is situated 300 m down the street.
There is a reputable restaurant in the village within walking distance.
You can also take lovely walks in the hilly moorland located just 150 m from the B&B Gl. Rye.

In the town of Ry, situated 4,5 km away, you find lots of eating and shopping possibilities.
Here you also find a train station. There are two scheduled departures every hour to Silkeborg, Skanderborg, Aarhus and Herning) as well as excursion boats to Himmelbjerget and canoe rental.
The local bus (route 421) runs from Ry to Gl. Rye.
